I've relied on Gina to accurately figure my fairly complicated income taxes for a few years now. I can honestly say that each year she's worked up all the forms correctly and in a timely manner. Although I've never met Gina (I live in a neighboring state and mail my tax information to her), the times that I've spoken with her on the phone, she's been nothing less than cordial and professional. I just left seeing Gina and I am so upset. The first thing she asked me was for my daughter's SS card. I didn't bring it. She said very hatefully, "Why would you not think you needed that?" I'm sorry. I have a 10 month old with a backpack full of toys and snacks that I am carrying into this appointment and it didn't cross my mind. I apologized and asked if I needed to go home and get it and reschedule. She laughs and says, "No, I am not wasting an appointment." Ok, sorry. It got quiet and she started to work on our taxes. Last year she had given us a projection of receiving about 5k back on our taxes. Now, she tells us that we owe money. Of course, my husband was in shock. He asked her to explain and she quickly spouted some numbers. He asked her to explain a detail again and she sighed and said, "Nevermind...forget it." She was annoyed he was not understanding. I'm sorry that we do not understand all things tax related and cannot follow as quickly as you. That's why we come to you for help. He said, "I'm sorry, I am just a visual learner." I thought she might offer to show him the paper. She just ignored him and kept typing. She finished our taxes and I asked if we could claim child care. She had already finished and then said we could do that. I wish she would question us about things we might be able to deduct before finishing us up. We signed papers and then she remembered that I was a teacher and could get educator's expense. She reprinted everything to reflect that, which I am thankful for. I just felt that she was very rude today and very short with us. She had just done my mother's taxes right before us and my mom said she was fine. I am not sure if me not having my baby's SS card put her in a bad mood or what. She also kept mispronouncing my daughter's name after I spelled it out for her and corrected her once. I have been to Gina for 3 years in a row but I will not be returning after my experience today. It was a terrible experience.
