Client Reviews of Mark J. Sunter, CPA

I had been having my taxes done with Sunter for 8 years and we always got a refund. Let me share my experience last year. I got my usual call from his office that our return was done. I went there to pay and pick up my return only to find out that we owed about $4000! Mind you, NO call from Mark about this. I asked if he was available, he came out front and said, "Yeah, I thought you'd be surprised". I was shocked as I was not aware that anything had changed with our finances. Though it is ultimately MY responsibility, it was not Mark, the CPA, it was me who said "what do we need to look at and do different so this won't happen again?". He suggested that I fax him our W-2 forms to make sure we were having enough taken out. Well, I did and NEVER heard back. I did not follow up as I came to the conclusion that while we are paying CPA rates, we are not as important clients as others he may have.
