Mr. Jim LeClair cost my husband and I IRS penalties and fees amounting to $2500 due to a lack of basic tax knowledge. For the past two fiscal years, he suggested we contribute the max amount to our regular IRAS even though we were contributing to retirement plans at work. According to the IRS this is not allowable and subject to a penalty. Although we had been long time clients, Mr. LeClair did not offer to offset the penalty and fees due to his error, but paid us the $32 in late fees. We would not recommend his tax prep service.
