The Worst Tax Preparer Reviews

I am sadden by the way this company handles their work and how they handle a mistake that they made. I left a voice message and sent an email at the first of March with no response. I then called back and did get a return call and an appointment was set up. We spoke with Mr. Ray and stated that we were looking for a CPA to complete our tax return as we had some new items that we were unsure how to handle. We discussed all the information needed and we emailed all the information to him. We then get a call stating he didn't get the information. I told him we had gotten a confirmation and he then realized he did have it. I then get another phone call asking for a form that we missed sending and I explained we had no type form. They realized then that the form was needed for another return and not our return as they had all they needed for our return. I was given a quote at the first meeting in March. Then we get an email stating they would try to get it done by April 15th but would probably need to file an extension. Followed by an email that an extension would have to be filed. We had several questions about this and was told it would cost another $120-$180. We were actually charged $300 more when completed and there was nothing extra added and it appears when original quote was given they knew an extension was going to be filed. The return was completed the middle of March but was told it had to go through a recheck process before final release. On July 10th we received the return stating it was ready to be sent to the IRS and we signed all the forms. On the return we were to receive a refund, now imagine our surprise when we just received a letter from the IRS stating the return was incorrect and we now owe over $2000. I contacted Mr. Ray and a phone meeting was set up. Mr. Ray acknowledged that they had made a mistake and the IRS was correct in the return. Mr. Ray stated that they failed to check a box to count the Social Security and that was the error. He continued to apologize but felt their only responsibility to "make us whole" was to refund the amount of interest the IRS was charging. It was the manner in how their error was handled. When I expressed that I had paid over $1000 for them to complete our return and that I trusted our return to be completed correctly and professionally, he stated we signed the engagement letter and also that we signed that the return was correct and that we should have reviewed it for accuracy. If I know exactly how the info should be then why did I hire a CPA? I hired them because this is their job and they are supposed to know how to file this. Many, many individuals receive Social Security and they need to process these returns correctly or take responsibility which isn't just I'm sorry.

Messed up my taxes, I asked for help plenty of times fixing it she did absolutely nothing. I would text her and get no response. She told me I was going to get a refund but instead I ended up having to pay since she messsed something up.

This woman is incredibly crooked and will scam you out of as much money for herself as possible. She intentionally changed all of her clients to S Corps in order to charge them more to prepare their taxes. NOT A SINGLE ONE HAD PAYROLL OR ANY OTHET REASON TO BE AN SCORP. She did this in-order to charge them all more and take their money- The greatest irony of all is that she herself remains an LLC. Hilarious! She stole thousands from us- don’t make the same mistake we did when it comes to running a small business, there are enough obstacles. This woman cost us THOUSANDS that we didn’t need to pay, even when the business wasn’t making money, Kendra Schmick was.

IRS said I owed more on my submitted taxes this year and I wanted to know why. Jeff hasn't responded to voicemails or emails in over 5 months. Just blew me off. I've never seen such unprofessionalism and zero customer service. He just doesn't care. He had health issues in the past and I gave him the benefit of the doubt, but he shouldn't be in business. Do not use this company. You will be highly disappointed.

Absolutely shockingly poor experience with Paul. I first met him in June, and over the next 3 months I had to constantly chase him - on three separate occasions he said my tax return would be ready within 'a few days' only for him to unresponsive for weeks after. This was of course a significant problem with the looming tax deadline. He is rude and unprofessional over email. Avoid at all costs.

I had prepared my taxes with Achille for years, but over the last few years they haven't been in person or had any review. I provided him with all documents and dropped them off and then he provided the amount for each refund over the phone. I was then able to pick up the submitted forms after. For the 2024 taxes a major mistake was made that resulted in the IRS asking for additional proof and time to review. After waiting 6 months for the IRS I was given a significantly less return than what was submitted. I was told when the initial IRS issue came up by Achilli that things happen and the IRS has the right to review. No help was provide by Achilli on the matter. I am not happy that a mistake was made, but the lack of support is sad. When reaching out after the final refund was received he stated to find someone else to prepare your taxes, I am lowering my clients I am supporting.

Zero stars if I could. She is a thief and stole $7000 of my 2024 tax refund. This conduct is highly unprofessional, unethical and criminal. Her word means nothing. Very difficult to get a hold to. Don't return calls or text messages until weeks later. Didnt receive my paperwork until September. When I learned she applied for a transfer agreement from a company(Refundo) I never heard of. Signed and dated by her,after she got the funds. I gave her my paper work in April didnt get filed until July 30.

This company completely failed me. I am new in America and do not know much about taxes. I paid them to file my state tax, but the state told me they never received it. I called many times and each time they said “I will fix it tomorrow,” then stopped answering my calls. More than 3 weeks have passed and nothing has been done. They took my money and did not do the work. Very unprofessional and dishonest. If I find any way to sue them, I will.

Very incompetent accountancy

I don’t know who this tax preparer is or how she got my personal information, but I got a letter from the IRS that she submitted a FORM 2848 to represent me. I am not in California, I don’t know WHO she is and I reported her to IRS and am reporting her to the State of California. I can’t even submit this review unless I notate services she provided me. SHE NEVER MET ME, I DON’T KNOW WHY SHE SUBMITTED A FORM 2848 SAYING IT WAS TOO REPRESENT ME! PLEASE KNOW I NEVER REQUESTED ANY SERVICES FROM HER!.

Noreen stole 200k from my 94 yr old father in law who just today was forced to pay this loan she took out. I would not trust her with 1 penny of my hard earned money.

Despite multiple attempts to resolve the matter, Ms. Scott has failed to issue a refund, does not return phone calls, and has conducted herself in an unprofessional and inappropriate manner during communications. This conduct demonstrates a lack of accountability, transparency, and good faith in business dealings. I am formally requesting assistance in recovering the funds paid, as well as holding this business accountable for failing to deliver services as contracted.

Gayane Saakyan took the money in January to process the taxes, and in April, when I urgently needed a report, it turned out that she had not yet filled out my tax report. Her secretary called me a liar, allegedly I did not pay on time for the past year, but this is not true, and this attitude did not remain without a trace. Long before that, I contacted her to open a non-profit organization, and she took the money in advance, promising that she would have time to fill out all the papers by the end of the deadline. But after a conflict related to taxes, she decided to ignore me and did not answer either calls or messages. I was forced to contact another specialist to fill out the papers on time and complete the non-profit registration. I paid double for a service that she did not provide. And when I contacted her to return the money for the work not done, she refused, appropriating the unearned money.

Poor communication and lack of professionalism. Alice Salvador of Leis Kai Boom. Filing was delayed, I incurred penalties, and she never responded to questions about an underpayment fee. I paid her in full but never received a copy of my return. Thankfully, I found it online. I won’t be using her services again.

Very very unprofessional. Messaged her in April to do tax extension. Said she did it, gave her all information needed & until now it's already September she did'nt do nothing yet. Been messaging/calling her in between months and says she's on it but nothing has been done. She just leads people on & giving the run arounds. Yes, poor excuse of an accountant!

Don’t get your income tax done here because he got hacked and my identity got stolen and he didn’t even have the decency to tell me when I went to prepare my taxes. He just let me do it anyway I haven’t got income tax back in three years still fighting with the IRS this has been a nightmare they think I owe them $4000 When someone hacked his system and filed false income tax under me they arrest still owes me three years worth of money now because of Kenny, he didn’t even have the decency to tell me, don’t go there.

Would NOT recommend for business taxes. NO communication. After finally giving up and leaving, Dan supposedly shredded all of our documents in an office move. Three years of no communication and horrible business practices. This is definitely a warning not to use. Read other reviews!

Had my taxes prepared here in April 2025 and as of August 9th of the same year, this company hasn't filed my taxes which I paid to have them prepare. Will NEVER support a black owned business again!
